Emails Reveal Jeffrey Epstein and former Trump strategist Ties

In late 2018, Steve Bannon, previously Donald Trump's chief strategist, was in the UK to deliver a speech at the prestigious Oxford Union.

The speech was interrupted by numerous protesters, and Bannon, who was due to travel that evening, told Jeffrey Epstein in an message: "Activists delayed my talk don't think I can catch the plane we r enroute to the airport".

Epstein replied: "That. Is a Gulf Air departing at 950 with a layover in Bahrain". Bannon answered: "U r an excellent helper".

These exchanges were published on this week alongside more than 20,000 documents from the estate of Epstein, the deceased convicted sex offender.

The release by the Congressional committee includes an iMessage chat where Bannon's name is withheld. The BBC managed to confirm his identity by matching the dates, events, and locations mentioned.

For instance, Epstein talks about arranging a jet from Scotland for the redacted user in the chat, and offers praise their "address at Oxford". Bannon participated in the News Xchange conference on November 14, and gave the speech at the Oxford two days later.

Bannon, who faces no allegations of any misconduct, did not reply on the inquiry.

'I'll make sure you're well looked after'

Bannon was one of Trump's key advisers in the run up to the presidential election and during the initial phase of his presidency, but stepped down from the administration in 2017.

He has acknowledged he was making a documentary about Epstein prior to his death and reportedly has around 15 hours of footage. In a live taping of his show recently, he stated: "We're going to publish the film, the multi-part documentary, in the coming year - at the start of next year."

But the recently disclosed materials indicate Bannon's relationship with Epstein went further than being his biographer, with the disgraced financier occasionally seeming to act like a personal assistant.

A short time before the conversation in which Epstein appeared to have arranged a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein said: "how does it feel to have the highest-paid travel agent in the world ".

Bannon thanked him: "U r pretty good asst", to which Epstein responded "Therapies. Not Included".

Discussing a trip to "AD" in another message, Epstein told Bannon: "I will ensure you're taken care of."

British Affairs Mentioned in Exchanges

The released communications also show Bannon and Epstein discussing British political matters in 2018.

Earlier on the day of his speech at the Oxford, Bannon messaged Epstein: "I became involved in the EU exit thing this day with Nigel, Boris and Rees Mogg."

Then, in what appears to be a allusion to the UK prime minister, the struggling UK prime minister at the time, he added: "They are trying to proceed. may soon…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "I think staying as much as you can uk. Best-- so people get the dedication of your follow through."

Shortly after, Epstein asked: "Will Theresa May remain in power". Bannon answered: "It seems unlikely BUT the guys over here have little courage" and added "Boris ; Gove; Rees Mogg; Davis - somebody has to take charge".

May was finally removed in 2019 after surviving multiple attempts of no confidence in December 2018.

A representative for Reform UK informed the BBC: "Nigel Farage has not been in a gathering with Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is no evidence that encounter occurred.

The US House of Representatives will vote soon on whether the Department of Justice should release all its files concerning its investigation into Epstein, who died in jail in 2019.

Attention in Epstein's relationships with powerful figures was reignited recently after the publication of over 20,000 pages from his estate.

Some of those referenced the former president, who has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing. The president was a acquaintance of Epstein's for a long time, but says they fell out in the early 2000s, two years prior to Epstein was initially charged.
